REGREEN

Use of reclaimed water for hydroponic agriculture in the urban environment

REGREEN

The REGREEN project aims to demonstrate the potential of using reclaimed water for hydroponic agriculture in the urban environment. Thus, the initiative envisages using this alternative water resource to irrigate urban gardens and thus shows citizens that reclaimed water can be used satisfactorily and safely for all types of uses, including agricultural and urban irrigation.

In this way, REGREEN becomes a lever of innovation to demonstrate the technical, economic and environmental viability of using reclaimed water in hydroponic crops at the municipal level, and to raise public awareness of the benefits of using reclaimed water, safe water even for urban gardens.
