Reclaimed water, one of the keys to circular water management

The REGREEN initiative, developed in collaboration with Aigües de Barcelona, was awarded in the context of SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”. This project promotes the use of reclaimed water for hydroponic agriculture in urban environments through a demonstration pilot. REGREEN’s experimental platform has been present in different municipalities in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, in order to raise public awareness of the context of drought in which Catalonia finds itself and promote the use of alternative water resources such as reclaimed water to ensure water resilience in the territory.
