Research network made up of knowledge centres in Spain specialised in the recovery of integral water cycle resources
The development of innovative technologies for the recovery of resources from wastewater and sludge is essential in a scenario of scarcity of raw materials. New resources such as energy, drinking water, nutrients and chemicals can be extracted from wastewater. Technological advances make a new holistic and multidisciplinary perspective necessary, as well as its adequate implementation in Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), in terms of environmental, economic and social sustainability.
In this context, HOLIWATER arises, a research network funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and composed of 14 research groups specialised in the field of technology and the environment, with analytical, microbiological, economic and social knowledge.
HOLIWATER will promote innovation in water and increase the value and visibility of the results obtained by each partner.
